The PNW Yacht Captains Association is having their annual benefit for the local Seattle non-profit Forgotten Children’s Fund on Wednesday evening, December 4th at the Ballard Elks lodge. This 501(c) 3 non-profit organization was founded in 1976 and gives Christmas to kids that may not otherwise get one. Gala attendees are generally yacht owners, captains and crew, local dignitaries and other wonderful, generous folks.
This year the Gala is a catered dinner by Metropolitan Grill, with a silent and live auction to raise money to make Christmas possible for over 1000 families a year, families who have fallen through the cracks and need a little holiday hope and cheer. Each child can get a bicycle, and receives 3 wrapped presents, winter clothes, books, candy and more. The family gets food, grocery gift cards, and a blanket. Sixty sets of Santas and elves deliver on Christmas Eve!
