| Our highly successful Grow Boating partnership with KING 5 Evening is now in its eighth year! So far this summer, Evening has hosted their show from on the water four times, on boats provided by Carefree Boat Club, Freedom Boat Club, Seattle Boat Company’s FunShare and Signature Yachts. They have also aired two boating stories: Boat Clubs will teach you how to be confident at the helm and Four Seattle restaurants you can access from the water. The program will continue through September. The Grow Boating program is funded by a portion of space rental fees collected from the Seattle Boat Show each year. The ongoing PR efforts are one example of how the funds are spent to advance the mission to promote boating in the PNW and to get existing boaters using their boats more often. Another example is the Grow Boating grants program (see next story). Since 2003, NMTA’s Grow Boating program has invested more than $2 million to promote boating in the Pacific Northwest. |
