With the removal of the five seaplane buoys on Lake Union after Labor Day, our friends at the Recreational Boating Association of Washington (RBAW) recently completed their third summer of promoting safety, courtesy and awareness on Lake Union via their MindTheZone campaign.

Thanks to increased funding from the City of Seattle and the State of Washington, the MindTheZone team tripled its public outreach efforts compared to last year and expanded into radio, print, and transit advertising. Digital efforts included targeted social media posts and a 15-second YouTube video, which averaged 63,000 views per day, resulting in over 1 million total views! Along with supplying its Lake Union business partners with materials and signage, the grassroots on-the-ground outreach team personally engaged with 1,289 Lake Union users.

A big thank you to NMTA members, Carefree Boat Club, Seattle Boat Company, Signature Yachts, Fisheries Supply, Freedom Boat Club, NW Yachting48 North and Waggoner Guide who shared the materials and message with their customers/readers. It takes a village!
