Discover a vibrant community of women making waves in the boating world—the Northwest Women in Boating (NWWB). Passionate boaters Marilyn Michael and Vivian Strolis founded NWWB in 2007. It grew out of a shared passion to connect and support women in boating. What began as a continuation of the Women Aboard ethos – where Vivian and  Marilyn met –  has evolved into a dynamic group. It is a no-dues, all-welcome organization that brings together women to network, promote and celebrate women in boating.

A Legacy with the Seattle Boat Show
NWWB has a long history of involvement with the Seattle Boat Show. For many years volunteers did a wonderful job staffing the information booth. They also ran the Knot a Boat display 2012 – 2020.

Women’s Day: Panel Discussion and Workshops
They currently organize a popular, inspirational and highly energetic 2-hour panel discussion for Women’s Day, with a diverse set of women every year who share an amazing amount of knowledge and talent. This year’s panel is on Monday Feb. 3 at 4 pm.

Additionally, two of the long-time members and super volunteers from NWWB, Margaret Pommert and Linda Lewis, are conducting an all-day Boat Show University course on Women’s Day, covering a wide range of topics from docking and line handling to preparing for onboard emergencies to navigation.
