The 13 member NMTA Board of Trustees charts the course for NMTA by setting policy and establishing direction for the association which NMTA staff implements. Are you interested in serving and contributing your voice and expertise? Consider running for the Board in the upcoming May election. Each year three NMTA members are elected to serve a three-year term. All voting members are eligible to self-nominate to appear on the ballot. Please note, affiliate members are not eligible to serve on the Board.
What’s the time commitment?
Board members elected in May will begin serving July 1, 2024 for a three-year term ending June 30, 2027. Board members are expected to attend monthly 2-hour meetings held on the third Wednesday of every month at 12:00 p.m. Currently, the meetings are on Zoom but we will soon be reintroducing the option to attend in person. Board members are also expected to attend and participate in at least one NMTA standing committee meeting each month, such as: Government Affairs, Superyacht Northwest, Boatyard, Marina, Grow Boating, Seattle Boat Show or Anacortes Boat & Yacht Show.

How do I appear on the election ballot?
Voting members need to self-nominate by April 5. If you are interested in serving, please email Katie Groseclose at katieg@nmta.net and she will send you the self-nomination application and questionnaire. In April, a Nominating Committee (Board chair, two Board members, and two at-large members) will select six self-nominated candidates to appear on the ballot. Ballots will be sent out May 6.
