For the fourth consecutive year, NMTA partnered with GMA Research to evaluate the 2026 Seattle Boat Show. As part of the analysis, GMA Research reviewed the responses from first time visitors. The findings delivered a strong vote of confidence in the show. Nearly all newcomers attended with at least one companion, reinforcing the show’s role as a shared, social experience. Satisfaction was exceptionally high: 9 in 10 rated the show 4 or 5 stars, would recommend it, and said it met or exceeded expectations.
While most came to explore—seeking information, comparing models, and spotting new trends—nearly 20% arrived with purchase intent, underscoring the show’s impact on sales pipelines. “Fun” was the dominant takeaway, with variety of boats, show deals, and convenient transportation between venues driving satisfaction.
Younger audiences—Gen Z and Millennials—comprised the majority of first-time visitors, many new to boating, highlighting a key opportunity to grow the next generation of boaters.
