As we head into Boat Show season, NMTA members and Seattle Boat Show exhibitors should be aware that fraudulent online activity typically increases this time of year. If you receive a suspicious email or phone call claiming to be from the Seattle Boat Show or NMTA—and you’re unsure of its authenticity—please contact the NMTA office directly at 206-634-0911 to verify. Our team is available daily from 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and we’re always happy to speak with our members and exhibitors.
NMTA does not share or sell attendee, exhibitor, or member lists. Fraudulent offers to sell such lists—often sent via email and sometimes misusing the Seattle Boat Show logo—have been circulating for more than a decade.
A newer trend involves unauthorized websites selling fake Seattle Boat Show tickets. To protect our attendees, official Boat Show tickets ($20.00) have been on sale since October 1 and can only be purchased at SeattleBoatShow.com through our secure partner, Interactive Ticketing. Notably, other ticket sellers such as the Seattle Seahawks and WAMU Theater are also reporting an increase in fraudulent ticket schemes.
Stay vigilant, and don’t hesitate to reach out if something doesn’t seem right.
